How To Install & Replace
Set up your Lunovia Shower Filter and keep it working with simple cartridge replacement steps. From first installation to flushing a new cartridge, this guide helps you get a secure fit, prepare your filter properly, and keep your shower routine feeling fresh.
Remove Shower Head & Apply Plumber’s Tape
Start by unscrewing your existing shower head from the shower arm. Once removed, clean the threads and apply plumber’s tape if needed to help create a secure, leak-resistant connection before attaching your Lunovia Shower Filter.
Flush the Cartridge Before Use
Before installing a new cartridge, rinse it with water until the water runs clear. A brief dark or gray rinse can happen from loose carbon dust inside the filter and is normal. Do not use soap or cleaners — water is all you need.
Insert the Flushed Cartridge
After rinsing the new cartridge until the water runs clear, place it into the Lunovia filter housing. Make sure the cartridge sits evenly inside the housing, and check that the O-rings and washers are properly seated before closing and reattaching the filter. This helps create a secure fit and reduces the chance of leaks.
Attach the Filter to the Shower Arm
Once the shower arm is prepped, twist the Lunovia Shower Filter onto the shower arm by hand. Make sure the connection is straight, the washer is seated properly, and the filter feels secure. Avoid over-tightening, as this can damage the threads or washer.
Seal the Shower Head Connection
Before attaching your shower head to the Lunovia Shower Filter, apply plumber’s tape to the connection threads if needed. This can help create a tighter seal and reduce the chance of dripping once everything is installed.
Reattach Your Shower Head
Once the Lunovia Shower Filter is secured to the shower arm, attach your shower head to the bottom connection. Apply plumber’s tape if needed, make sure the washer is seated properly, and tighten by hand until secure. Avoid over-tightening to help protect the threads and seal.
Flush, Check, and Enjoy
Once everything is installed, turn on the water and let it run until clear before showering. A brief dark or gray rinse can happen at first from loose carbon dust inside the cartridge and is normal. Check each connection for dripping, tighten gently if needed, then enjoy your cleaner-feeling shower routine.
